December 2021: 2 years off Depo!

First of all I can’t believe it has been 2 years since I stopped Depo! And secondly I can’t believe it’s been almost 18 months since I posted on this blog! Sorry 😕

So I will update where I left off - towards the end of 2020 I finally started having a regular cycle with regular ovulation although my cycle was much longer than I was anticipating. My cycle was anywhere between 30 - 45 days long but eventually evened out to around 32 days.

In March 2021 after being off contraception for over 12 months, I decided to speak to the GP and was referred to fertility clinic so I could have a fertility MOT if you like. I had blood tests at different times in my cycle, urine tests, transvaginal scan and lastly was the hycosy test (where they put the dye into your tubes to check they’re not blocked). All very full on for me and all my partner had to do was jizz in a cup 🤷🏼‍♀️

All of these tests were done over June/July 2021 with the final test being the hycosy. I was asked to take a pregnancy tests prior to the hycosy and to my amazement it was positive!! (I actually initially thought the test was negative - que boyfriend running to the pharmacy for more tests!)

Obviously we were absolutely delighted and for a while could not believe it after what felt like years trying to conceive along with how my hormones had been making me feel.

However in September 2021 I very sadly had a miscarriage and I am currently on my first period since losing the baby. Again my hormones have been affected therefore I am trying to let my body get back into routine. 😔

Here’s to 2022!
